Hey Reader
If you’ve ever tried teaching math while a toddler poured water on the dog… you’re not alone.
Homeschooling with littles around is one of the most beautifully chaotic seasons, and also one of the most exhausting.
Here are a few things that can help:
🐝 Intentional interruptions. Have a small basket of “only during school” activities for your toddlers: sensory bins, snacks, chunky puzzles, or water play at the sink. Save these for school time so they feel special and engaging.
🐝 Rotate the setup. Think like a preschool teacher; stations, not marathons. Alternate 15-minute chunks of time where you help an older child, then rotate to check in with the younger ones.
🐝 Embrace nontraditional hours. You don’t have to school 8–2. Use nap time for focused lessons. Let learning happen in the evenings if that works better. Homeschooling is a lifestyle, not a schedule.
And if you need more support juggling it all, Homeschool Super Heroes Week has your back.
There are entire sessions on homeschooling with toddlers, meeting everyone’s needs without losing your mind, and creating a home that works for all ages.
You don’t need to “wait until the toddler stage is over.” You just need some fresh strategies, and a little encouragement from moms who’ve walked the same path.
P.S. Not interested in Homeschool Superhero Week at this time? I totally get it. While each email in the series will include tips you can use, you can OPT OUT of the series but remain subscribed to THE BUZZ when you click the button below.
