Not Sure What Interests Your Child? Try This.

Hey Reader,

One of the hardest parts of homeschooling can be figuring out what your child is actually interested in, especially if they tend to shrug and say “I don’t know” whenever you ask.

Want a fun, low-pressure way to find out?

Use free resources as curiosity sparks.

Here’s what I mean:

Try grabbing a free printable, a quick activity, or even a random holiday-of-the-day celebration and see how your kids respond. (Have you checked out the free resources in the School's Out Bundle yet?)

If they love it- boom, you’ve just unlocked a new interest to explore. If they don’t? No problem. You didn’t have to buy an expensive curriculum to find that out!

That’s why I share fun “holiday of the day” ideas at Happy Hive Homeschooling, because you never know when Bingo Day (IT'S June 27th BTW) might lead to a fun science experiment or writing project.

When you are not sure what interests your kids, follow the spark.

To help you follow the spark, I created the See the Spark Snapshot.

This free reflection tool helps you recognize interests, strengths, hidden learning, and confidence-building opportunities so homeschooling feels easier and more effective.

If your child lights up about a certain topic, follow it deeper with books, videos, and conversations.

In the next email, I’ll show you how to take a freebie and turn it into a full, engaging lesson.

Happy exploring,
