Where Did the Weekend Go?

Hey Reader,

Have you ever looked at the calendar and thought...

"Where did the weekend go?"

Or maybe...

"How is it Friday already? We haven't done anything we planned!"

You started the summer with good intentions.

You pictured nature walks. Reading together. Crafts. The ultimate swim day.

Maybe finally finishing that math book.

Instead...life happened.

You stayed up too late watching fireworks.

You made pancakes for dinner.

You spent an afternoon at Grandma's.

The kids built an epic blanket fort.

Someone caught a frog.

Someone cried.

Someone laughed so hard milk came out of their nose. 😅

And suddenly...another week was over.

That's when Comparison-itis likes to sneak in.

You open social media and see another homeschool family checking off everything on their summer bucket list.

They're visiting museums. Planting gardens. Reading chapter books by the pool.

Meanwhile, you're wondering if anyone brushed their teeth today.

Sound familiar?

Comparison-itis Symptom #1

Feeling behind because someone else's summer looks more productive than yours.

Here's what I want you to remember today:

Life isn't falling behind. It's happening.

Some of the sweetest parts of childhood don't fit neatly into a planner.

They're found in lazy mornings.

Backyard adventures. Extra popsicles.

Conversations that last longer than expected.

Those moments matter. They count.

They become the memories your children carry long after they've forgotten what happened on page 42 of the math book.

So before you decide any week was "unproductive," try something different.

Instead of making a list of everything you didn't do...

Write down three memories your family made this week.

Not accomplishments. Not lessons. Just memories.

I have a feeling you'll discover your summer has been fuller than you thought.

Nothing has gone wrong.

Sometimes you have to... look again. 🐝

Today, I have a question I'd really love for you to answer.

What made your child laugh this week?

Was it a silly joke? A sprinkler? A game? A family adventure?

Hit reply and tell me.

Sometimes those little moments remind us that we're building something much bigger than a lesson plan.
