What does a successful homeschool look like, Reader? Completed curriculum? Those things can be useful, but they aren’t the only measures of success. Your family may also value curiosity, connection, independence, creativity, faith, emotional well-being, or service. The trouble is, when we don’t define success for ourselves, someone else will. Curriculum companies, schools, social media, relatives, and even our own childhood experiences will quietly hand us a definition. Then we wonder why we always feel behind. Try looking farther ahead instead. Picture your child at 25. ❓What do you hope they know about themselves, their family, and their ability to learn? That vision can help you decide what matters today. Reader, you are the most important part of my job. You are not interrupting my day when asking a question, replying to an email, or reaching out for support.
